Insurance Claims

Art Gallery 101 specializes in fire and water damage. We work with insurance companies and claims adjusters on a regular basis and are prepared to handle the inventory, evaluation, and restoration of damaged property.

We know that the experience of salvaging your belongings is emotional and tiring work. We aim to simplify the process in the following ways:

  • We will come to the site of the loss to pick up damaged items. When the work is done, we will deliver them back to you or make arrangements for shipping.

  • We will carefully document and photograph each item individually before examining its condition and taking steps to insure that no further damage is allowed to occur. When dealing with smoke, soot, and water damage, it is important to act quickly.

  • We will recommend only the necessary restoration—nothing more. (Keep in mind that insurance will only cover restoration costs when the proposed repairs do not exceed the value of the item.)

  • We will file the proper documentation with your insurance and expedite processing of your claim. We do not begin work until we receive approval from your insurance company.

  • We will pack and safely store your artwork on our premises.

We highly recommend making a home inventory. This will help you to keep track of your valuables, determine the amount of insurance coverage you should have, and file a claim if you experience damage or loss. Many companies offer guidelines for conducting an inventory.
